I’ve had a busy 3 weeks. I attended the DreamActs art exhibit and panel discussion, met with some current Board of Aldermen, filed for candidacy, shared a meal with two local politicians, enjoyed fun campaign meetings with Brooks Rainey Pearson, Rebecca Weiss, and my dog Bella. I attended a justice fundraiser for the housekeepers at UNC, went on a morning walk in the woods to see where potential paving of the path might take place, and much, much, more.
I’ve lived in Carrboro since 2001 and consider myself pretty aware of local issues. Since starting a campaign I’ve gotten to know so much more about the community. The process of meeting with people from all different parts of the community has deepened my awareness of this beautiful place I get to call home. The Paris of the Piedmont. I’m the type of person who gets involved; so through meeting with folks I’ve started to feel like my full time job could be meeting with folks and then working on whatever issues they feel like are most important. I’m reminded of a Chinese Proverb “A person grows most tired while standing still.” I’m getting involved heart first and am very excited about this journey. I’m happy to hear about what issues are important to you. Email me firstname.lastname@example.org visit me on facebook at Michelle for Carrboro Board of Aldermen or see me on twitter-michelleforboa.
